This French Park Cincinnati wedding took place on one of the nicest spring days we’ve had all year. With sunny skies, blooming flowers, and comfortable temperatures, it was the perfect setting for Jillian and Pete’s celebration. Their wedding combined meaningful traditions, garden-inspired details, and one of Cincinnati’s most beautiful park settings.

The day began at French Park, continued with a ceremony at St. Cecilia in Oakley, and ended back at the park with dinner, dancing, and sunset portraits overlooking the hills. Every part of the day reflected what mattered most to them.

Getting Ready at French Park

Jillian and Pete started their wedding day at French Park.

The girls spent the morning getting their hair and makeup done while the guys played video games before getting dressed for the ceremony.

Flowers were a major part of the wedding design. From the bouquets to the reception decor, floral details appeared throughout the day. Shades of pink and chartreuse carried throughout the design, adding a fresh spring feel.

Once everyone was ready, they headed to St. Cecilia for the ceremony.

A Traditional Ceremony at St. Cecilia

One of the most important decisions Jillian and Pete made was not to do a first look. They wanted to keep their wedding day traditional, so they chose to see each other for the first time during the ceremony.

After arriving at St. Cecilia in Oakley, guests found their seats and waited for the ceremony to begin. A sense of anticipation filled the church as everyone watched the doors.

Then Jillian walked down the aisle.

Since they had chosen not to see each other beforehand, this became their first moment together that day. Pete’s reaction was incredibly sweet, and it was clear how much the moment meant to both of them.

The ceremony focused on their commitment to each other and the traditions that mattered most to them. Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife.

Once the ceremony ended, everyone made their way back to French Park for portraits and the reception.

After returning to French Park, we moved into wedding party portraits.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful pink dresses paired with bouquets that complemented the floral design throughout the day. Against the greenery of the park, the colors stood out beautifully.

French Park offers a variety of portrait locations, from open green spaces to tree-lined paths, making it easy to create different looks without leaving the property.

Everyone was excited to celebrate the newlyweds, which made for a fun and relaxed portrait session.

Couple Portraits at a French Park Cincinnati Wedding

Once family and wedding party photos were finished, it was time for portraits with just the two of them.

This gave Jillian and Pete a chance to spend a few quiet minutes together before the reception began.

One thing we love about photographing a French Park Cincinnati wedding is the variety of scenery available throughout the property. Within a short walk, couples can find open green spaces, wooded areas, and scenic overlooks.

The spring landscape looked beautiful throughout the afternoon. Trees were full of fresh leaves, flowers were blooming, and the park felt especially green after months of winter weather.

Rather than rushing from one location to another, we took our time and let Jillian and Pete enjoy the moment. Whether they were walking together, talking, or simply taking in the day, their connection came through naturally in every photo.

As cocktail hour began, guests arrived at the reception space while we wrapped up portraits and joined the celebration.

A Garden Party Reception Under the Tent

The reception took place beneath a large white tent at French Park.

From the moment guests arrived, the garden-party theme was evident. Floral centerpieces, patterned details, and the pink-and-chartreuse color palette worked together throughout the reception space.

The colors felt especially fitting for a spring wedding.

Tables were decorated with flowers, and the overall design complemented the park’s natural surroundings. Nothing felt overdone. Instead, the decor blended nicely with the outdoor setting.

Guests enjoyed the cocktail hour before taking their seats for dinner. Throughout the evening, friends and family shared conversations, caught up with one another, and celebrated the newly married couple.

The tent created a comfortable atmosphere while still allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding park.

Live Music Kept the Celebration Going

Music played a big role in the reception.

Jillian and Pete hired both a live band and a saxophonist to entertain their guests throughout the evening.

Once the music started, guests quickly gathered around the dance floor. The band handled the reception music while the saxophonist joined in throughout the night, creating a fun atmosphere that kept people engaged.

Before long, the dance floor filled up.

Friends and family danced together, sang along to favorite songs, and celebrated with the couple. The energy stayed high throughout the evening, and guests clearly enjoyed having live music as part of the reception.

Sunset Portraits Over the Hills

As the evening continued, we stepped away for a few final portraits.

One of the highlights of a French Park Cincinnati wedding is the view from the hills during sunset. On clear evenings, the light can be incredible.

This wedding day delivered exactly that. As the sun dropped lower in the sky, warm light spread across the park and filtered through the trees. The hills overlooking the property created a beautiful backdrop for the final portraits of the day.

The sunset gave us a completely different look than the earlier portraits. Soft golden light added warmth to the images and highlighted the surrounding landscape.

After a full day spent celebrating with family and friends, these final moments gave Jillian and Pete a chance to take everything in together before returning to the reception.
