As Cincinnati wedding photographers, we always love getting to explore new places, and this Georgia wedding was one we’ll never forget. Lauren and Nick live here in the Cincinnati area, but they wanted something a little different for their big day. So they packed their bags (and brought us along!) for a destination wedding at The King and Prince Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
We had never been to St. Simons before, and wow, it totally stole our hearts. Between the Spanish moss, sandy beaches, and southern hospitality, it was the perfect spot for a laid-back, elegant Georgia wedding.
Before we share more, hi! We’re Maggie and Amber, the best friend duo behind Kindred Light Studios. As Cincinnati wedding photographers, we love documenting love stories both close to home and in unforgettable places, like this charming Georgia wedding. Whether it’s a laid-back beach celebration or a classic ballroom affair, we approach each wedding with the same heart: genuine connection, relaxed direction, and thoughtful storytelling.

Rehearsal Dinner and Sunset Session
The celebration started the night before the wedding with a cozy rehearsal dinner at The King and Prince Resort. Friends and family gathered under string lights and swaying palms, enjoying fresh seafood, sweet tea, and all the southern favorites. It was the perfect way to ease into the relaxed, coastal vibe of this beautiful Georgia wedding weekend.
Earlier that evening, just before the rehearsal dinner festivities began, we snuck down to the beach with Lauren and Nick for a golden hour photo session, just the two of them. The light was soft and dreamy, and Lauren’s flowy floral dress moved beautifully in the ocean breeze. They kicked off their shoes, walked barefoot through the sand, and soaked in those quiet moments together before the big day.
What we loved most was how natural it all felt. It wasn’t about posing, it was about connection. Just two people in love, savoring a calm, joy-filled moment before everything officially began. It was such a nice start to their Georgia wedding, and one of our favorite memories from the weekend.
Dreaming of your own destination wedding? Whether you’re drawn to the beaches of Georgia, the hills of Tuscany, or a charming village in Greece, we’d love to help you bring your vision to life.

Getting Ready at the King and Prince Resort
The next morning, we started the day with the wedding parties getting ready at the resort. Lauren got ready with her mom and bridesmaids, surrounded by laughter and mimosas. Her classic white gown hung next to a porch swing (hello, dream photo setup!), and her bridesmaids wore matching blue pajamas while celebrating with champagne in hand.
Over on the guys’ side, Nick got ready with his crew; there was a whole lot of bowtie adjusting and last-minute pep talks. One of the highlights? Nick surprised each of his groomsmen with custom bobble heads made to match their individual looks. He’d been so excited to give them out (and rightfully so, they were spot-on!). We love when thoughtful, personal touches like this show up during the getting ready moments.
One of the most touching parts of the morning? Lauren’s first look with her dad. It was one of those emotional, quiet moments that had everyone (us included) tearing up behind the camera.

A Spanish Moss First Look at Avenue of the Oaks
Before the ceremony, we took Lauren and Nick to Avenue of the Oaks, a tucked-away lane just a few minutes from the resort, where massive old oak trees draped in Spanish moss line the road. It was the perfect place for their first look. When Nick turned around and saw Lauren, his reaction was everything: pure joy, a wide smile, and a little “wow” moment.
Back at the resort, we gathered the wedding party for portraits before the ceremony began. The energy was light and joyful. Everyone was so excited for Lauren and Nick, and you could feel the love and anticipation in the air as we captured those final pre-ceremony moments.
Maybe you’re dreaming of a destination wedding a little farther from home. If coastal Georgia sparked your wanderlust, just wait until you see what it’s like to say “I do” in Italy. From rolling hills to historic villas, it’s every bit as magical as it sounds.

The Ceremony by the Sea
The ceremony took place on the resort lawn, just steps from the shoreline. The setup was simple and elegant, with soft florals and white pillars framing the ocean behind them. Guests sat facing the water, with a gentle breeze coming off the coast and the sound of waves in the background. It was the kind of setting that made the whole day feel peaceful and meaningful, the perfect choice for a relaxed Georgia wedding by the beach.
Lauren walked down the aisle surrounded by sunshine, smiling guests, and happy tears. The way Nick looked at her said everything. They exchanged heartfelt vows as the sun peeked through the clouds, and just as they were pronounced husband and wife, the skies gave them a final moment of calm before the weather shifted.
Right after the ceremony ended, a quick downpour rolled through, one of those classic, blink-and-you-miss-it coastal showers. Everyone ran for cover with smiles and laughter, and it only added to the fun. The rain passed almost as quickly as it arrived, leaving behind cooler air and a soft glow that made the portraits that followed feel extra dreamy. It’s those little unexpected moments that often turn into the best memories.
Their Georgia wedding ceremony wasn’t just beautiful to photograph. It felt personal and joyful from start to finish, with just the right mix of elegance and real-life magic.

Georgia Wedding Portraits and Party Time
After the ceremony, we captured family photos, and a few quiet just-married moments by the water. Then it was time to celebrate! Their reception setup was filled with thoughtful details, including soft florals, candlelight, and personalized touches at each table. Oh, and the cake? A classic white tiered beauty with a scalloped design that matched the timeless vibe of the day.
One genius thing Lauren and Nick did? They assigned one “party captain” from each side of the family. These two had one job: get everyone dancing, and they crushed it. The dance floor was packed the whole night.
The evening ended with a high-energy sendoff: sparklers, confetti streamers, and a dip kiss that looked like something out of a movie. If there was ever a perfect way to wrap up a destination Georgia wedding, this was it.
