From the moment we arrived to photograph Katherine and Cole’s wedding at Meshewa House, we knew the day would be unforgettable. Tucked away in the exclusive Indian Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, this private estate was the perfect setting for their romantic summer garden party. Every detail, from the overflowing florals to the thoughtful design, felt warm, elevated, and full of heart.
Katherine originally imagined a Bridgerton-inspired affair, but the final design leaned more into a whimsical summer garden party, with every detail intentionally chosen and flawlessly styled. From rattan pendant lights to blooming floral meadows, the aesthetic was effortless yet elevated.
Before we dive into this gorgeous day, hi! We’re Maggie and Amber, the best friend duo behind Kindred Light Studios. How the Day Began at This Wedding at Meshewa House
When we arrived, hair and makeup had just wrapped, and there was a sense of calm upstairs in the bridal suite. Katherine and her bridesmaids were enjoying the morning, surrounded by laughter and soft natural light pouring through the windows. We began by photographing her personal details, including her custom stationery (complete with watercolor florals and a monogram), dainty jewelry, classic heels, and perfume.
Downstairs, Cole and the groomsmen were settled in, drinking beer and watching golf in their wing of the estate. He slipped into his light-colored suit with some quiet help from his dad, while the energy remained relaxed and joyful.
Back upstairs, Katherine stepped into her gown with the help of her Maid of Honor and mom. Her dress was both timeless and modern, all at once, and seeing her beam as she smoothed the veil into place was a truly sweet moment to witness.

A Ceremony Full of Intention (and a Very Cute Dog)
Rather than a first look, Katherine and Cole chose to see each other for the first time during the ceremony. So before guests arrived, we captured photos of the wedding party out on the estate’s front lawn, surrounded by soft sunlight and green trees.
The ceremony space was nothing short of magical. Guests were greeted with welcome champagne as they made their way to a winding aisle flanked with woven baskets overflowing with pastel blooms. The floral palette was soft and romantic, featuring light pinks, buttery yellows, creams, and white.
One of our favorite details? Their dog, Ron (named after Ron Weasley, naturally), proudly walked down the aisle and stole every heart in the crowd.
Katherine’s aunt officiated the ceremony, which added a deeply personal touch. The couple recited their own heartfelt vows. Cole could hardly hold back tears the moment he saw Katherine, and by the time they exchanged rings, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.

Cocktail Hour on the Lawn
After the ceremony, guests headed to the cocktail hour on the lawn, where the experience was both elegant and relaxed. Hors d’oeuvres like mini tacos, watermelon salad, and shrimp cocktail were passed while guests sipped signature drinks: Cole’s favorite “transfusion” cocktail and Katherine’s espresso martini.
Meanwhile, we explored the estate with the couple for portraits, capturing quiet moments under the trees and joyful ones with the full wedding party. The property at Meshewa House gave us endless options for backdrops, from the stately front drive to the secluded green lanes.

How the Dance Floor Took Off at This Wedding at Meshewa House
As the sun began to set, the couple and their wedding party made their grand entrance into the tent. Instead of easing into the evening, they jumped right into their first dance. But here’s the twist: after a few intimate moments alone, Katherine and Cole invited everyone onto the dance floor. And just like that, a full-on dance party broke out. Nearly every guest was on their feet, and it was a fun and energizing way to kick off the night.
Afterward, dinner was served, light summer fare that kept guests cool and comfortable in the warm August air. The evening flowed into heartfelt toasts from the Maid of Honor and Best Man, followed by parent dances that felt both emotional and joyful, all under the warm glow of the tent.

A Reception Under the Tent: Rattan, Lace, and Wild Blooms
When it was time to transition into the reception, guests entered a sailcloth tent that looked straight out of a summer fairytale. Overhead, woven rattan pendant lights glowed warmly, hanging from lush greenery installs. Below, long farm tables were topped with lace runners, glass candlesticks, and low garden-style floral arrangements that mimicked blooming meadows.
Each place setting featured textured charger plates, soft linen napkins, and delicate glassware, an effortless blend of casual charm and elevated design.
The seating chart display was especially creative: woven baskets holding single-stem flowers doubled as a “build your own bouquet” bar. It invited guests into the experience and tied beautifully into the floral-forward theme of the day.

The Sweetest Ending (No Cake Required)
Instead of the traditional cake cutting, Katherine and Cole chose a custom ice cream cart. It was an unexpected and delightful detail that perfectly fit the warm summer night. Guests picked their favorite flavors and added toppings like chocolate drizzle, nuts, and sprinkles. Some danced barefoot with ice cream in hand, while others gathered under the soft glow of the tent, enjoying the relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
As the final song played and the sky faded to a deep navy, the tent lit up like a lantern. The air felt soft and romantic. The entire evening ended with the kind of love and energy that lingered long after the last dance.
